About The Job

The Investment Office is searching for a Portfolio Analyst as part of our expansion plan to support Portfolio Managers in managing the University's investment funds.

What You Will be Doing

  • Performance Tracking: Track and analyse the performance of the portfolio, providing reports and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • TAA Attribution Calculation: Assist in performing tactical asset allocation attribution calculations to assess the impact of asset allocation decisions on portfolio performance.
  • Manager Monitoring Framework: Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive framework for monitoring investment managers to ensure alignment with the fund's objectives and performance standards.
  • Sustainable Investing: Assist in developing the sustainable investing roadmap and contribute to sustainable investing initiatives.
  • Portfolio Construction and Asset Allocation: Assist in the analysis of portfolio construction and asset allocation to optimise the fund's performance.
  • Other Matters: Assist in preparing investment committee agenda and materials, document minutes and support other operational and administrative tasks where necessary.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience within the investment management industry
  • CFA or other related qualifications (or in the midst of pursuing such qualification) would be advantageous
  • All majors are welcome

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
  • Proficient in financial analysis using Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Python and Power BI are advantageous
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, asset classes and/or experience in sustainable investing is a plus
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and desire to learn and value-add to the team
  • Interest in gaining knowledge about asset allocation, portfolio construction and fund selection in both public and private asset classes
