About The Job
The Investment Office is searching for a Portfolio Analyst as part of our expansion plan to support Portfolio Managers in managing the University's investment funds.
What You Will be Doing
- Performance Tracking: Track and analyse the performance of the portfolio, providing reports and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- TAA Attribution Calculation: Assist in performing tactical asset allocation attribution calculations to assess the impact of asset allocation decisions on portfolio performance.
- Manager Monitoring Framework: Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive framework for monitoring investment managers to ensure alignment with the fund's objectives and performance standards.
- Sustainable Investing: Assist in developing the sustainable investing roadmap and contribute to sustainable investing initiatives.
- Portfolio Construction and Asset Allocation: Assist in the analysis of portfolio construction and asset allocation to optimise the fund's performance.
- Other Matters: Assist in preparing investment committee agenda and materials, document minutes and support other operational and administrative tasks where necessary.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience within the investment management industry
- CFA or other related qualifications (or in the midst of pursuing such qualification) would be advantageous
- All majors are welcome
Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to details
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
- Proficient in financial analysis using Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Python and Power BI are advantageous
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, asset classes and/or experience in sustainable investing is a plus
- Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and desire to learn and value-add to the team
- Interest in gaining knowledge about asset allocation, portfolio construction and fund selection in both public and private asset classes
