The Payments Multi-Cluster Business Execution Manager and Global Operational Resiliency Head is a senior level position responsible for accomplishing results through the partnership and collaboration within the Payments Business Management Team, the Payments Business and across the Enterprise Operations Resiliency function.

Business Execution: This team is critical in supporting the organizations strategic goals, and administrative activities that cut across the Global Payments business. These tasks may include tracking adherence to performance management goals, expense management and headcount initiatives, coordination of strategy related activities.

Operational Resilience takes a client-centric and “outside-in”, cross-organizational approach, rooted in our mission and value as a company. Resilience deepens our relationships with clients and counterparties, strengthens our internal value-chain, and reduces commercial threats to Citi’s growth due to deeper understanding of new and emerging vulnerabilities, risks, and threats (posed by evolving business models, technology, and client expectations).

This role will report into the Global Payments Business Execution, Strategy Planning and Core Modernization Head. The candidate will require strong management skills, leadership abilities, exceptional communication skills, administrative experience, and a strong focus on execution.

This role will provide the candidate a comprehensive view of Global Payments and its key priorities. More specifically, responsibilities include:


Business Execution Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head of Payments business management in shaping and executing organizational strategy.
  • Work in close partnership with Payments CFO and Business Management head to build out the Operating plan for Payment’s strategy and managing oversight along with the Payments ExCo, as well as financial forecast activities.
  • Work in partnership with Sales organizations to understand sales moment, ramp, losses and win analysis to help drive future strategic investments and focus.
  • Responsible for coordinating the preparation of material that Global Payments Head and Payments Exco require in key forums including Payments Townhalls agenda and coordination, internal and external Business reviews and presentations, Quarterly All Hands meetings, etc.
  • Partner with Business, Function and Cluster Heads to progress Payments-wide strategic priorities, such as headcount, budget, and performance management; and improvements in client experience and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align on best practices and continue to refine processes to support ongoing business management activities and increase efficiency.
  • Support Ongoing analysis of Financials, expenses and drivers to highlight any gaps vs. the strategic priorities for Payments to the Business Management Lead and COO office management team.
  • Any other Ad hoc deliverables in relation to reviews, reporting or initiatives critical to the overall business strategy.
  • Partner with local and regional business management team to ensure alignment of business goals.
  • Drive implementation of business-driven projects across functions, working closely with relevant senior leadership
  • Communicate business knowledge, product knowledge, and requirements to business and internal support functions.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Business Execution Responsibilities:

  • Lead a central Global Payments Operational Resilience team providing global oversight across all in-scope Jurisdictions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert advisor to leadership to drive performance and initiatives and develop and implement information delivery or presentations to key stakeholders and senior management.
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership, key stakeholders, and own team members.
  • Lead global Payments Operational Resilience meetings or steering committee to facilitate decision making and support implementation of recommendations and plans.
  • Represent the Payments Business in internal and external Operational Resilience related meetings and initiatives.
  • Strategically engage with all levels of the firm across multiple lines of business and serve as an experienced advisor to the leadership.
  • Strengthen operational business resilience planning efforts across the Payments Business including strengthening the operating model to better integrate cluster and / or jurisdiction considerations.
  • Facilitate the mechanism for consistency across Payments Critical Business Services (CBSs) within the supported Jurisdiction(s) (Framework, deliverables, approach, sharing information across Jurisdiction).
  • Pursue continuous improvement of the Payments Operational Resilience framework (in support of the Enterprise Resilience framework) to ensure compliance with global regulatory expectations and process optimization.
  • Drive, manage and support internal communications and forums to encourage and enable collaboration and adoption.
  • Support existing governance roles in resilience and risk committees, to ensure effective engagement in resilience assurance, planning and mitigation activities.
  • Drive awareness and adoption of Operational Resilience by strategically engaging with partners and stakeholders across the Enterprise and serve as an expert advisor on operational resilience and serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Manage, lead, or participate in strategic initiatives in support of strengthening the firm's resilience framework and capabilities.
  • Respond to regulatory requests and exams, as applicable.
  • Provide line management to a small team of Operational Resilience specialists and Project Managers.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in financial markets business or business support
  • Strong Financial background with the ability to fully evaluate revenue and expense models, and drive programs of work focus on identifying opportunities to increase/reduce as appropriate.
  • Experience with Citi Businesses, specifically TTS or Securities Services preferred.
  • Demonstrable in-depth experience in Operational Resilience, ideally within a large global Financial Services institution.
  • Solid understanding of wholesale Financial Services businesses and end-to-end operating models.
  • Proven analytic skills and ability to synthesize information, to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholder groups and to deliver credible outputs supporting senior management decision making.
  • Experience of managing a global team through direct and matrix reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office product suite; basic macro coding experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Consistently demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task a wide range of issues and deliver on commitments within tight deadlines.

  • Strong work ethic: positive attitude and willingness / ability to pick up work quickly when and where needed.

  • Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas.
  • Discretion and sound judgement. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy.
