Position Overview

Working within the Embedded SRE organisation, the role will be expected to perform the RTB (run the business) activities for the business that we support. The Application Support Analyst will be expected to work on on-call rotations to handle, triage and escalate on alarms and issues that may arise during their shift. During periods where the analyst is not on rotation, the analyst is expected to perform other RTB activities, including but not limited to generating reports on the various kinds of operational workloads, reviewing capacity needs of the business, supporting and/or driving disaster recovery response drills, and supporting deployments.

Job Responsibilities

The application support analyst will handle the day-to-day operations of the business. The candidate will need to demonstrate a structured and analytical approach to the identification, diagnosis and rectification of issues.

• Provide level 1 troubleshooting support and response, and be on standby up to 12h a day during the week of standby

• Log, escalate and follow through with issues, ensuring that issues are resolved

• Review and improve our alarms and alarm response

• Periodic reviews and submission of the capacity needs of the business

• Support and/or drive disaster recovery response drills

• Deploy new versions of the software

Requirements

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other highly technical, scientific discipline

• 1-5 years of Technical / Application Support experience on various technology platforms

• Responsible and proactive approach to resolving problems, and being able to have a structured approach to problem solving
