NIE invites suitable applications for the position of Executive in the English Language and Literature (ELL) Department. ELL is a community that values collegiality and positive attitude, and strives to provide a conducive and supportive environment for professional growth.
Responsibilities
You will provide administrative support to the department in the following areas:
- Managing the course administration, timetabling and examination matters for the Teachers' Language Development (TLD) courses offered by ELL (including generating reports for submission to the Ministry of Education (MOE).
- Verify reimbursement claims and process purchase requests from research staff.
- Providing support to the Intuitional Review Board (IRB) and research grant related matters.
- Oversee the management of ELL assets and accessories (including decommissioning, disposal, and repair).
- Management of ELL facilities as well as workspace allocations for faculty and staff (including coordination of IT equipment servicing within the facilities).
- Assist in processing the external consultancy applications.
- Handling the induction of ELL’s new faculty, staff, and visiting scholars.
- Providing support to visiting scholars (including creation of guest wireless accounts and workspace arrangements).
- Maintain the Department’s webpages on the Sitefinity platform.
- Supporting the conferences/seminars/webinars organized by the Department.
- Perform any other ad-hoc administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Polytechnic Diploma.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in education institutions.
- Must have an eye for detail.
- Possess good communication and collaborative skills.
- Excellent organizational as well as project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Service-oriented individuals with a pleasant personality coupled with a positive learning attitude.
- Knowledge of Sitefinity or other website design platforms would be an added advantage.
