The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
Join the laboratory of Gary Greaves at SPMS. We are seeking a Project Officer to contribute to a project focused on discovering new results on the interface of algebra and combinatorics.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake research in Algebraic Combinatorics and collaborate with Dr Gary Greaves
Contribute to the teaching of undergraduates, e.g., by conducting tutorials and grading exams
Assist in the preparation and writing of progress reports, scientific presentations, manuscripts and publications
Manage and maintain project records
Job Requirements:
A first class Bachelor degree in Mathematics
Strong working knowledge of Algebra and Combinatorics
Experience writing and publishing research papers
Strong presentation skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in LaTeX and mathematical software packages
