Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining our laboratory’s accreditation and quality management system through effective equipment management, metrological traceability, and quality assurance/control of laboratory processes and testing. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality team and Laboratory Operations Manager to achieve and maintain ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation, demonstrating our technical competency and commitment to providing consistently valid results.
Key Responsibilities:
Environment Monitoring & Equipment Management:
- Monitor lab conditions to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist in laboratory equipment commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Plan and coordinate external and internal calibration, troubleshoot equipment performance issues, and liaise with external service providers.
Proficiency Testing:
- Assist in conducting proficiency testing programs.
- Collate data for analysis and support Quality Engineers with test result analysis and corrective actions.
Documentation & Traceability:
- Develop methods and author procedures for calibration and verification activities.
- Ensure all quality-related documents, especially equipment calibration procedures and records, are accurate and up to date.
QAQC Process Flow:
- Implement quality assurance procedures and the quality management system in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
- Perform internal audits, address non-conformities, and support the lab in maintaining accreditation status while adhering to QHSSE and technical requirements.
Training & Development:
- Conduct training sessions for equipment management and calibration procedures.
- Provide continuous feedback and support to junior quality team members.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide feedback on potential improvements to laboratory processes.
Requirements:
- Degree in relevant discipline
- Diploma with >8 years of experience may apply.
- Voc. High School with >15 years of experience may apply.
- Prior experience in ISO17025 accredited lab (Desirable).
- Prior work experience in geotechnical or construction materials laboratory and
- performing tests (Desirable).
Other:
- English Proficient
- Very good numeracy and literacy
- Working knowledge of maths, statistics, functions, and geometry
- Eye for detail, diligent in following procedures and record-keeping
- Electronics technical skill (Desirable)
