Responsibilities
Safely cut, trim, and debone various types of meat (beef, pork, poultry, lamb, etc.) into specified cuts, steaks, roasts, and chops according to customer orders or predetermined guidelines.
Properly store meat in refrigerators and freezers to ensure freshness.
Ensure that meat products meet quality standards for appearance, texture, and freshness by inspecting for defects, spoilage, or contamination and discard any damaged products.
Assist customers with their meat selections, provide expert advice on various cuts, cooking methods, and offer customized cuts to meet specific needs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. and follow all sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
Monitor inventory levels of meat products, report low stock, and assist in ordering supplies.
Prerequisites
Minimum 3 years' experience as a meat cutter, butcher in a retail environment with Basic Food Hygiene Course (SFAS certified).
Proficient in meat cutting techniques and knowledge of various meat cuts. Good knife skills and familiarity with cutting tools and equipment.
Good knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene regulations of Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and NEA, including proper handling of meat, sanitation procedures, and hygiene standards.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail when cutting and preparing meat products.
Able to lift heavy items up to 20kg, stand for extended periods, and work in aircon environment.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
