WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides technical expertise for all equipment-related activities in the manufacturing process and supports IPT Maintenance Technicians. The incumbent:
Executes maintenance, improvement, E&I, and M&I maintenance activities within the IPT, ensure preventative maintenance is completed according to schedule requirements, and supports equipment change control implementations
Drives Execution Excellence within the team and implement technical solutions to improve equipment uptime and asset utilization with special focus of critical assets and new assets for PW1
Lead as E&M project lead for several new NPI products in-line with launched preparedness stewardship, key Hoshin Projects, small capital lead projects and major improvement projects
Supports IPT Maintenance Lead to meet Profit Plan targets, and IPT cost-effectiveness initiatives through the MPS strategy
Provides technical oversight and supports Maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting to resolve equipment issues and breakdowns
Provides technical and equipment-related expertise to support deviation/atypical investigations, safety incidents and ensures effective root cause analysis is conducted
Partner with maintenance leads (IPT and site) in developing long term strategy
Future succession plan for maintenance managerial lead role
Partner with Engineer Manager in coaching Maintenance Engineers in deviation and atypical investigations, and ensures effective root cause analysis
Train, develop, guide and coach new Engineers(s) for end-to-end maintenance business activities (day to day, MPS, reliability) and maintenance technician(s)
Lead in Change Control and in the Installation, operation, and process qualification
Supports maintenance planner to schedule the maintenance activities and perform the NOCO and TECO for preventive and corrective maintenance work orders as and when required
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Manufacturing Excellence:
Corrective Maintenance
Ensures resolution and timely follow-up of identified facility related equipment issues, unplanned events, and new opportunities identified by IPT Maintenance Lead during the daily walkthrough
Ensures equipment breakdowns are resolved promptly and updates the Preventive Maintenance Plan
Provides technical expertise and support to IPT Maintenance Technicians for equipment breakdown troubleshooting and recovery to ensure the timely and effective resolution of issues
Preventive Maintenance
Works with Engineering & SHE CoE to execute a reliability-centered maintenance plan and to share best practices and lessons learned, to improve asset utilization
Ensures all planned internal and external Preventive Maintenance activities are executed and completed
Equipment Reliability
Executes reliability-centered maintenance activities and programs as required under the site’s reliability-centered maintenance program
Ensures equipment downtime does not exceed capacity planning assumptions
Equipment Critical Spares
Updates the equipment critical spare part list and sets minimum re-order levels as directed by IPT Maintenance Lead
Continuous Improvements (CI)
Utilizes MPS Framework and Lean Six Sigma Tools, such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, SMED, and 5S, to support execution of continuous improvement and OE projects intended to increase agility, flow, and throughput, and also to reduce cycle time and inventory
Supports the development of a continuous improvement framework within the maintenance group and works with the IPT Maintenance Lead to identify opportunities for new MPS projects
Supports the Reliability & Maintenance COE in executing reliability-based programs such as RBAM or Accelerate and drives team to follow through on corrective actions
Coach the IPT Maintenance team Engineers and technicians on effective problem solving for day-day issues (RTPS)
Incident/Deviation/Atypical Investigations
Applies effective root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques to support the resolution of equipment related incidents and deviation/atypical investigations
Ensures all preventive actions relating to equipment are effectively implemented within the agreed time frame and to prevent recurrence
Equipment Change Controls (ECC)
Supports implementation of ECC by participating in impact assessments and executing field equipment modifications, including management of project schedules, resource plans, vendor coordination, and material purchases
Ensure RFT, launch execution excellence for critical new products change management
Prepares and completes IQ documentation and ensures that documentation meets required regulatory standards
Participates in field walk-downs
Participates in HAZOP reviews
PUW System SME (if relevant)
Supports the operation of the PUW system and execute any improvement and change to the water management system
Back up SME to the PUW system and lead in PUW related deviation and atypical investigation
Supports IPT for audit and related activities for PUW
2) Financial Stewardship
Undertakes activities to support the realization of production, cost-effectiveness, and product cost reduction targets set in the Profit Plan, with particular emphasis on spare parts, consumables inventory, cost, and reducing waste.
Monitors IPT maintenance program to ensure cost-effectiveness including spare parts levels, frequency of scheduled PM, and equipment breakdowns
3) Quality / SHE Stewardship
Quality
Prepares SOPs and Job Aids to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ensures PM-related documents are generated and maintained according to required standards and frequency
Ensures all deviations/atypicals and customer complaints are fully investigated with any equipment related actions effectively implemented within the agreed time frame to continually improve processes, prevent waste, and eliminate rework
Ensures equipment related activity is completed according to established procedures and all associated documentation is completed to a high standard
Ensures all out-of-tolerance equipment findings are appropriately documented and investigated promptly
Implements assigned corrective actions, as documented following regulatory inspections and internal audits
Safety, Health & Environment
Participates in and supports the implementation of actions for Incident Investigations and Audits
Ensures required risk assessments, including HAZOPS, are carried out for the IPT promptly, recommendations provided and implemented as agreed
Ensures permit requirements are met for all IPT maintenance activities
4) People Excellence
People Management
Mentors new engineers in the team while working with the Engineer Manager to groom into having future direct reports (2 to 3) while implementing Performance Management ensuring direct reports meet Yearly objectives, provides timely continuous feedback to direct reports and demonstrates our leadership standards
Promotes a culture of continuous learning and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement
Ensures future direct reports have a development plan which supports the achievement of objectives and future professional growth
Promotes DE&I culture in the maintenance team where employee engagement, empowerment, teamwork, equality and the embracement of diversity is in the team’s culture norm
Lead in “Speak Up” culture having effective and regular communication to the team for any challenges and encourage an open two way channel for continuous feedback back from the team

Ensures both operational knowledge and technical skills are maintained and compliant against individual training requirements
Supports the other Managers and Senior Manager for Tier 2 and people management responsibilities (esp. during leave or absence)
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) or Science in Engineering (B.Sc Eng.) or Bachelor of Science (e.g. Chemistry, Physics) with related working experience Professional certification.
Professional certification is an added advantage (such as Lean Six Sigma)
Experience:
5 to 8 years of maintenance experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Leadership, Professional and Functional Competencies:
Strong Problem-Solving Skills
