Lonza is currently looking to hire a Senior Technician 2, Engineering - Utilities. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to be part of a world-class team that is dedicated to maintaining our utilities to the highest standards. You will be responsible for ensuring that all utility systems operate flawlessly, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare products.
Key responsibilities:
- Complete daily routine and repair work orders as assigned.
- Ensure all routine maintenance works are strictly carried out as scheduled and in compliance with Engineering standards and procedures.
- Perform shift duties if required and respond on-call for maintenance/service breakdowns to support ongoing operations.
- Solve equipment breakdowns and carry out basic repairs.
- Supervise vendors/service providers during daily routine utilities and maintenance work to ensure equipment is maintained in full operational status, including Plant Steam Boilers, HVAC / Process Chillers, Cooling Tower, Air Compressors / Dryers, Waste Water System, and BAS Operation.
- Coordinate general utilities management for operations, maintenance, and spares.
- Perform regular equipment inspections to determine status. Complete or supervise repairs/upgrading works to enable smooth handover and minimize disruption to production schedules.
- Apply and close work permits with Area/System Owners for vendor/service providers.
- Maintain all site utilities in optimum condition in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and EHS requirements. Ensure all GMP documentation related to maintenance activities is completed accurately and processed to full completion.
- Communicate to Supervisor/Manager when encountering non-compliance issues including work delays, breakdowns, missing parts, etc.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, including but not limited to the above.
Key requirements:
- Must have a diploma or relevant national trade certificate.
- Perform shift and be available on-call when required to support Utility O&M needs.
- Certified Boiler Attendant or Certified Steam Engineer is beneficial, but not crucial.
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills.
- Detailed and Quality conscious.
- Ability to follow SOPs and instructions strictly.
- Diligent in performing operational checks.
- Good communication skills and a great teammate.
