About the role

Facilities Team is looking for a Facilities Management Intern based in St James Power Station. This role requires the candidate to support the day-to-day operations of the facilities management team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the maintenance, management, and improvement of building systems and services. The intern will assist in ensuring the workplace is safe, functional, and well-maintained, while gaining exposure to industry-standard practices and tools in facilities management.

  • Help schedule and track routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections.

  • Assist in liaising with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality work.

  • Observe and learn about preventive maintenance programs and their implementation.

  • Support the team with regular inspections of the premises, including Cleaning, Landscape, ACMV, Lighting, Plumbing, etc.

  • Document findings, track work orders, and support the resolution of facility-related issues.

  • Participate in audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards.

  • Oversee maintenance of inventory of equipment, supplies, and facility-related assets.

  • Track stock levels, reorder supplies when necessary, and ensure proper storage and organization.

  • Help with analysing data for maintenance reports, work order logs, and performance metrics.

  • Input information into available facility tools for tracking and reporting purposes.

  • Collaborate with the facilities team on small renovation or improvement projects.

  • Conduct research on potential upgrades or new systems that could enhance facility operations.

  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing documents, and responding to inquiries related to facilities issues.

  • Support with creating and updating facility manuals, policies, and standard operating procedures.

About you

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in facilities management, construction, or related areas is a plus, but not required.
