Position Available: Research Associate
SBS invites applications for the position of Research Associate in Professor Zbynek Bozdech's group. This role focuses on functional omics studies of the malaria parasite, including Transcriptomics, Proteomics, and Genomics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bioinformatic analyses on bulk, single-cell, and multi-omics sequencing datasets from diverse sources (e.g., patients, in vivo, in vitro).
- Identify novel biomarkers, key regulators, mechanisms, or pathways using datasets such as whole genome sequencing and RNA-seq.
- Develop and maintain bioinformatic pipelines for genomics and transcriptomics processing and analysis.
- Stay updated on advancements in bioinformatics and data science, integrating new methodologies into research workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate bioinformatic solutions into broader research projects.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, or Biochemistry.
- Advanced expertise in bioinformatics, with knowledge of population-scale genomics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R and/or Python.
- Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
