What the role is:If you are looking for a rewarding and fulfilling social service career, join the National Council of Social Service (NCSS)! The Graduate Trainee Programme in NCSS is specially curated and designed for fresh graduates who have a keen interest in the social service sector. You will be exposed to a wide spectrum of work ranging from policy-related work, to planning and administration of programmes, as well as project management to understand how NCSS supports the social service eco-system in Singapore as a Sector Developer.What you will be working on:The one-year immersive Graduate Trainee Programme offers full integration into NCSS, allowing you to work alongside all levels of staff and key stakeholders, and have hands-on involvement in new and on-going projects. There will be structured job rotations to at least two Divisions with an industry attachment to a social service agency to have first-hand experience in working alongside social service professionals.
Bridging the university-workplace gap, trainees are assigned mentors to guide you on workplace norms, culture, and expectations that are not typically taught in academic settings. Mentors will be assigned to support trainees to navigate workplace challenges and provide you with insights into performance improvement and career pathways.
Throughout the programme, you will also get to be involved in cross-functional project teams for signature events in NCSS and the social service sector. There will also be networking opportunities with colleagues and industry professionals which grant you valuable professional contacts to expand your network.
You will be assigned a Talent Manager throughout the one-year programme. This unique work experience provides you with a realistic view of the social service sector and the role you can play in NCSS. This programme helps fresh graduates make informed career decisions while developing practical skills and provides an accelerated learning opportunity after graduation.Key Responsibilities and Activities
