What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

Position summary:

  • Manage and responsible for Shift Process Technician training requirements and include conducting instructor lead on the job training activities.
  • Develop training materials for Process Technicians on plant equipment operation.
  • Conduct on the job and class room training
  • Assess training and knowledge retention of trainees.

Position responsibilities:

  • Conduct orientation training for the new technicians and mentor them till they are competent to perform task independently.
  • Conduct refresher training.
  • Identify training needs of the shift team and conduct training to close the training gaps. Assist STS to administer Job Training Curricula of the shift process technician to progress toward full competency to perform all operation task
  • Conduct hands on training including Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Structured On The Job Training (SOJT) or Work Instructions (WI) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Assessment of training and knowledge retention during SOJT and classroom training session.
  • Coordinate with Business Excellence Department to Train Senior and Lead Process Technicians to be competent in conducting SOJT.
  • Coordinate the training needs and schedule with Environmental Health and Safety Department (EHS) and Shift Team Supervisors (STS) on external WSQ training program and annual Emergency Response Training (ERT).
  • Conduct basic Delta-V training.
  • Administer proper documentation for all training related forms and records – Learning Records, assessments, evaluations, Course Information Forms, Learning Requisitions.
  • Proficient in PGS Learning Solution (PLS) system and able to manage the training requirements of the
  • Production Team, which includes coordinating all training activities and facilitating group training for the department.
  • Provide feedback and training status reports to Operations Manager on a regular basis.
  • Conduct periodic review and gap analysis of operation team Job Training Curriculum (JTC) with Operations Manager and make changes as required.
  • Coordinate with other function for internal and external training arrangement for shift technicians and STS.
  • Participate in safety and quality incident investigation to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to training related gaps.
  • Support internal, regulatory and EHS audits  Plan and Schedule training for shift colleagues including their off/rest days.
  • Be able to work OT when need arises

Accountable for:

  • Efficient execution of the Department Training Plan.
  • Coordination and implementation of technical training within the department.
  • Proper documentation of all training activities and timely submission of documentation.
  • The knowledge and operation skill of technician to comply to EHS and GMP/Regulatory requirement.
  • Closing of training gaps for shift colleagues.
  • Review training materials to improve the quality of training.
  • Monitor training gaps of shift colleagues and close gaps within 7 days
  • Review SOP, SOJT before due date of periodic review or when gaps are identified.

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements):

  • BA/BS degree with any years of experience, or Associate's degree with 4+ years of experience, or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Solid understanding of GMP and Regulatory Training compliance
  • Experience in Technical Training Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
