The Management Trainee (Workshop Manager) leads the overall forklift maintenance operations, and works with other teams such as the forklift sales department, port operations department and warehouse operations department. He/She supports organisational maintenance regimes and ensures adequate technical expertise, and manpower and operating resource requirements are met. In addition, he/she leads process improvement initiatives and reviews maintenance, operations and safety audit findings to make informed decisions for improvements.

He/She shows excellent leadership and managerial skills. Furthermore, he/she is analytical and resourceful in managing diverse workshop operations and fleet maintenance.


Duties and Responsibilities


Ensure Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and regulations are followed.



Approve documentation of all maintenance activities.



Implement improved maintenance regimes to enhance the reliability of forklift utilisation.



Lead the overall implementation of forklift fleet maintenance regime.



Manage annual budget for the department.



Manage multiple contractors to ensure safety requirements as well as operating and quality standards are met.



Manage workshop's performance in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).



Provide technical guidance to maintenance teams.



Recommend vendors based on proposal evaluation and cost.



Review and approve maintenance schedule and manpower plans.


Review audits on maintenance, repair and overhaul operations.

Qualifications

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Automation or equivalent,
ITE in mechanical engineering or automation,
Candidates with secondary education with 3 years working in workshop experience are welcome to apply.
Able to communicate and write in English.
Ms Office literacy.
5.5 days work week, from 8.00am to 5.00pm / 8.00am to 12.00noon
OJT will be provided.
