Job Description


With a high degree of autonomy, you will be supporting the legal function within the Wise group to help take the business to the next level, including:

  • Support legal function across APAC markets, advising on licensing, market entry, and partnerships.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements with banking/payments partners and service providers.
  • Provide practical advice to Product and Expansion teams, supporting new services and market entry.
  • Assist with governance initiatives and advise on legal rights and duties of subsidiary companies in APAC.
  • Collaborate with the global Legal team to support wider company needs and stay updated on legal developments in APAC.
  • Mentor and upskill relevant directors, officers, and teams, simplifying complex legal matters.

Qualifications


We are looking for someone passionate about fintech or finance with:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in APAC, focusing on payments, financial services or technology
  • Significant experience in top-tier law firms, with a focus on Corporate, M&A, and Banking & Finance legal matters
  • Proven experience in commercial contract structuring, drafting, and negotiation
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex matters
  • A collaborative, problem-solving approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and high integrity

Experience in Australia is a plus.
