About the Role

Are you ready to lead and build a best-in-class Medical Writing team in Asia Development? As the Head of Scientific & Medical Writing, you will apply your leadership skills to deliver organizational business goals through optimizing internal and external resourcing, compliance, best practices, innovation, and effective processes. You will be responsible for the resourcing, quality, compliance, and delivery of all documents produced by the Medical Writing team in Asia Development.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent is accountable for all deliverables by the Asia Development Medical Writing Team, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage a team of internal Medical Writing employees.
  • Define and execute strategies for recruitment of top talent.
  • Create opportunities for development of capabilities and careers.
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-TA improvement initiatives.
  • Inspire and promote smart-risk taking based on informed decisions.
  • Lead process improvement, training, quality, and compliance.
  • Leverage digital tools to improve efficiency and enhance productivity.
  • Provide representation for GSK in external regulatory requirements and process improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the identification and engagement of third-party partners.

To be successful in the role, you need to have a good understanding of the complex clinical development and regulatory landscapes of Japan and China including cutting-edge study designs, data interpretation & skills to communicate.

You’ll also need:

  • At least a Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., life science, medical, pharmacy), preferred PharmD/PhD/MD in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in clinical regulatory writing in the pharmaceutical industry, including leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in multicultural settings.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with an agile and growth mindset.
  • Strong understanding of the clinical development and regulatory landscapes of Japan and China.
