Summary/Objective
The Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and components on our vessels. This role requires a deep understanding of maritime electrical systems, knowledge of automation, the ability to work in various environments, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Functions
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of electrical systems and components on vessels.
- Travel to vessels to perform on-site repairs and maintenance as necessary
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues on vessels
- Install new electrical systems and components on vessels
- Update and retrofit existing electrical systems as required
- Work with other departments to ensure installations are completed on time and within budget
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and fix electrical problems
- Utilize various testing equipment and tools to ensure accurate assessments
- Provide technical support and advice to vessel crew and other departments as needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing electrical work
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and standards
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations
- Perform routine housekeeping of worksite to ensure the workshop is kept safe, neat and clean for work
Requirements
Nitec in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or relevant qualification
Minimum 2 years of experience in related area
Demonstrate strong teamwork skills
