Position Overview: Join our dynamic team as an Associate Director – Investment and be at the forefront of our regional expansion in the Asia Pacific. You will play a critical role in originating, analyzing, and executing investment and M&A opportunities, helping to cement our position as a global investment leader. Your expertise will guide senior management through the deal execution process in various geographies, from valuation to negotiation and due diligence coordination. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and drive investment-related communications within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and refine the investment strategy for the APAC region, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market trends.
- Market Research and Analysis: Identify potential investment opportunities and analyze macroeconomic trends across various industry sectors to enhance the company's portfolio.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and manage detailed financial models to perform valuations, assess risks, and evaluate the feasibility of potential projects or investments.
- Due Diligence Leadership: Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial, operational, and legal evaluations of target companies and projects.
- Negotiation and Deal Structuring: Negotiate terms and conditions for investments and acquisitions, working closely with legal and financial advisors to structure effective deals.
- Investment Documentation: Develop and maintain high-quality investment documentation, including memoranda, due diligence reports, portfolio analysis, and presentations to assist senior management in investment decisions.
- Collaboration with Advisors: Collaborate with external advisors (e.g., legal counsel, financial advisors) and internal teams during different stages of M&A transactions.
- Liaison with Sellers/Partners: Assist in liaising with prospective sellers/partners and drive negotiations with them.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CFA are an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in investment analysis, M&A, corporate finance, and/or capital markets roles, with a background in Investment Banking or Private Equity.
- M&A Expertise: Experience in M&A due diligence and deal negotiation (SPA, SHA, JDA, JV) is required. Experience with deal execution in APAC countries is highly desired.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and corporate finance skills, with the ability to understand and assess value drivers for investments and M&A opportunities using robust financial valuation techniques.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively presenting proposals to senior management and external stakeholders, including investors.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and deal-making skills for structuring and coordinating M&A deals and due diligence programs.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and evaluate investment and M&A opportunities, developing creative solutions to overcome challenges.
- Proactive and Independent: Proactive, independent, able to perform under pressure, with a willingness to travel and work on a flexible schedule.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
