Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Marine Vessel Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repair work on marine vessels, including engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with marine equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • Carry out emergency repairs and provide solutions to minimize downtime and ensure the continued safety of operations

Technical Support & Problem-Solving

  • Provide technical support for complex repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Work closely with ship crews and offshore teams to address immediate and long-term repair needs.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to improve vessel performance and reduce operational risks.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, includingreports on inspections, repairs, parts used, and time spent.
  • Ensure all repair work complies with regulatory and industry standards and is appropriately documented for audit purposes.
  • Prepare maintenance schedules and provide recommendations for necessary upgradesor replacements.

Quality Control & Safety Compliance

  • Monitor the quality of repair work and ensure all maintenance activities are carried out to the highest standards.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime safety and environmental regulations, including adherence to SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and MARPOL (Marine Pollution) requirements.
  • Conduct safety checks and recommend improvements to prevent future damage or failure.

Collaboration with Other Departments

  • Work closely with the project management, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and services required for repairs.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers for technical support and part procurement.

Training & Development

  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers, technicians, and crew members on vessel repairs and maintenance.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in marine engineering technology, repair techniques, and industry standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marine repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of marine vessels.
  • In-depth knowledge of marine systems such as propulsion, electrical, mechanical, and safety equipment.
  • Stron understanding of maritime safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to work offshore or in dry docks if required.
  • Certification in marine safety and repair procedures (e.g., STCW, Basic Safety Training) is a plus.
