We are currently seeking a Cloud & Infrastructure Technology Senior Staff Engineer to help grow and mature our solution architecture practice. This is also an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our broader company's practice outside our team.
Responsibilities
Build relationships across the broader IT organization to increase adoption and maturity of the practice.
Collaborate in our community to deliver on the solution architecture practice's strategic vision.
Collaborate with practitioners to publish and drive a roadmap of what outcomes the practice will produce.
Collaborate with our community to refine the identity and expectations of solution architecture practitioners.
Ensure comprehensive documentation of complex solutions and maintain documentation standards.
Lead efforts to capture and share best-practices amongst an emerging solution architecture community.
Lead efforts to capture solution architecture patterns and drive pattern awareness and reuse. Deliver compelling internal and external presentations and written material to advance the practice.
Coach and mentor community practitioners to mature their practice and improve pipeline of community leadership talent.
Demonstrate the value of the practice and decrease time to value for practitioners.
Drive enhancement of the solution architecture practitioner experience.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, other relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of Compute/Hosting infrastructure solution architecture, engineering, delivery, and operations experience.
7+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
2+ years experience in working in Agile ways of working.
Preferred
Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Advanced solution architecture certification (AWS Solution Architect Professional, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Experience delivering value through a community of practice or open source style project that delivered outcomes without direct HR reporting structure. Experience presenting and/or publishing best practices in industry conferences or blogs.
Experience architecting solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures.
Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Intellectual curiosity to always keep your technical skills current while maintaining a pulse on industry trends.
Intermediate/advanced experience with cloud technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Excellent collaboration skills and a track record of cross-functional collaboration.
