Responsibilities:

  • Verify crew qualifications and documentation.
  • Apply for flag state endorsements and certificates as required.
  • Monitor and plan regular and timely crew changes before contract completion.
  • Prepare Seafarer’s Employment Agreements according to regulated wage scales.
  • Update personal records of crew in the crew management system (Danaos).
  • Monitor the expiration of crew documents and arrange for renewals or repatriation if necessary.
  • Handle visa applications, flight bookings, and hotel reservations.
  • Ensure all necessary permits, invitation letters, guarantee letters, and travel itineraries are obtained before mobilization.
  • Prepare claims related to crew travel expenses.
  • Manage and record crew insurance claims due to medical issues or injuries.
  • Oversee performance appraisals and career progression for seafarers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for all crewing matters on assigned vessels.
  • Apply for or renew Collective Bargaining Agreements for relevant vessels and ITF Blue Cards annually.
  • Participate in annual crew budget planning and cost optimization.
  • Ensure the well-being and welfare of the crew, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Stay updated with and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and standards.
  • Be prepared to coordinate emergency responses and crew evacuations if needed.
  • Organize and coordinate training programs for crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma holder with 1-2 years of relevant experience in the marine industry.
  • Experience with Singapore port limit harbour craft manning processes, including the application and renewal of harbour craft crew work permits, manning licenses, pilot exemption certificates, mandatory MPA training and refresher courses, as well as Inland Revenue income tax for crew and MOM levies, would be an added advantage.
  • Handle overseas manning agent & seafarers from Indonesia. Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia is an added advantage.
  • Strong team player capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to handle any issues that arise effectively.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure.
  • Strong customer service orientation, particularly in dealing with crew members and their needs.
