Responsibilities:
- Responsible to source, negotiate and purchase materials from approved local & overseas vendors.
- Take lead in sourcing for new goods not supplied by regular principals/vendors with the aim to reduce cost whilst maintaining quality and requirements.
- Ensure all purchase request are approved within mandated guidelines.
- Evaluate vendor’s quotation to ensure that they are in line with the technical and commercial specifications required for the project.
- Process the purchase orders correctly by liaising with suppliers, stakeholders and purchasing admin.
- Manage the daily operational purchasing needs such as following up on Purchase Orders delivery and shipment schedules.
- To effectively manage the air and sea freight costs by optimizing the relevant use of incoterms.
- Resolve supply, quality, service and invoices issues with vendors and or other stakeholders.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time & best competitive prices accordingly to criteria and Company’s requirements.
- Responsible for implementing procurement strategies on urgent deliveries and long lead time items to meet project timeline.
- Undertake any other assigned ad-hoc duties.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma in Procurement/ Supply Chain/ /Marine/ Engineering or equivalent certifications.
- Preferred 3 years relevant working experience in a similar capacity preferably in Construction/Marine/Offshore industry.
- Good negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work well under stress in a fast pace environment
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Application (Words, Excel) and an acceptable understanding of ERP.
- An organized team player with sense of priority & close attention to details.
