Your Job

As a Plating Engineer, your primary purpose is to develop and optimize plating process engineering that aligns with customer requirements. You will work on implementing low-cost, high-efficiency plating production technology. This role involves strategizing plating processes for new projects, ensuring the feasibility of product designs, analyzing and mitigating risks, and collaborating with various teams to enhance plating quality.

Our Team

You will be reporting to the Plating Expert. You will be part of the Division of DSS, specifically within the Manufacturing Engineering Development department and the Plating ME section. You'll work closely with a diverse group of professionals, including Product Managers, Product Designers, AQP, Project Management Engineers, Tooling Designers etc.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and optimize the plating process engineering to meet customer requirements, focusing on cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project teams to strategize plating processes for new developments and design plating processes.
  • Ensure the plating manufacturing feasibility of product designs and address any potential risks.
  • Work with design, manufacturing, and other process teams to innovate and improve processes.
  • Involve yourself in designing new tooling for existing and new products and assist in resolving production and quality issues.
  • Engage in New Product Introduction and plating manufacturing engineering, and solve plating quality issues.
  • Participate in Equipment 3D Design projects to enhance plating capabilities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in the plating manufacturing processes of connectors and familiarity with connector applications and performance.
  • Expertise in designing plating equipment and a minimum of three years of experience at an electrical connector manufacturer or with a plating chemistry/process supplier.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as NX and CAD (2D/3D) and a strong foundation in plating technical expertise.
  • A good team player with qualities such as humility, respect, and a positive attitude.
