We are looking for an experienced, self-driven Project Manager with a wealth of industry knowledge. To ensure success, the ideal candidate should be comfortable splitting their hours between the office, on-site visits, and attending site meetings, when required.
The candidate should be a critical thinker and have sound knowledge of construction and site requirements, to identify and help to solve issues on site. The successful candidate should be able to effectively communicate ideas, make recommendations, and negotiate project details with their team, subcontractors, and customers when required.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop a project timeline with milestones and deadlines.
- Estimate and manage the project budget, including labor, materials.
Team Coordination:
- Lead and coordinate the work of the installation crew, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Resolve any conflicts or issues that arise within the team.
Client Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining clear communication throughout the project.
- Address client concerns, questions, and feedback promptly.
- Provide updates on project progress, delays, or changes.
Resource Management:
- Allocate labor and resources efficiently across different projects.
- Monitor the project budget closely to prevent overspending.
- Manage cost variations and ensure any changes are communicated and approved by the client.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the flooring installation meets the required quality.
- Resolve any quality issues or defects promptly.
Scheduling and Time Management:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Coordinate deliveries, installations, and other activities to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor progress and adjust timelines if necessary.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks (e.g., delays, cost overruns, safety hazards) and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Respond to unexpected challenges swiftly and efficiently.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of project plans, budgets, progress reports, and any changes or variations.
- Ensure all documentation is complete for handover to the client at project completion.
- Prepare and submit final reports on project performance and financials.
Project Closeout:
- Ensure the final inspection is done and that the project meets all agreed-upon specifications.
- Obtain client sign-off on project completion and satisfaction.
- Coordinate clean-up and removal of any leftover materials or equipment.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of industry knowledge will be strongly preferred.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time.
