PERTAPIS CHILDREN'S HOME's mission is to help children victims of abuse to re-integrate in society through positive learning. The Home provides care to 80 children and young persons from the age of 4 to 16 years old. They are referred by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and Youth Court for alternative care arrangement.
Job Description
- Provide personal care assistance to residents in their daily living.
- Support in providing assistance to residents in managing their healthcare needs.
- Perform daily resident management.
- Monitor residents’ safety and ensure clients adhere to home rules.
- Perform activities according to care plans.
- Provide inputs for development and review of care plans.
- Chaperone clients between their appointments and activities to ensure safe transfers.
- Respond to unusual or challenging behaviours of residents.
- Respond to incidents according to organisational procedures during social, recreational and educational activities.
- Ensure that all records, accounts, documents and correspondence are properly maintained and are kept up to date.
- Ensure residents behaviours are in compliance to house rules.
- Recommend measures to mitigate risk to residents.
- Track quantity of inventory in Operations Room.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and working condition.
- Support in Emergency Response.
- Assist in the conduct of emergency response and crisis management drills.
- Participate in the organisation’s emergency response and crisis management exercises.
- Document and report incidents according to organisational procedures.
- Conduct social, recreational and educational activities to promote independence,health, wellness, and quality of life.
- Guide clients in the development of basic personal and social skills, simple academics or work skills.
- Identify areas of improvements in programmes, activities and trainings.
- Perform daily handover to staff during changes in shifts.
- Provide input to operations review meetings.
- Manage front-desk duties.
- Liaise with social service practitioners, volunteers, organisations and stakeholders to facilitate provision of care services for residents
Job Requirements
- ‘N’ Level / ‘O’ Level / Diploma
- Able to work on rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Pleasant personality, good interpersonal skills, matured and have genuine passion to work with young children
