Lab Technician (Tuas/Part Time)

Duties*

• Position is a support role requiring more work direction whereby worker follows generally defined procedures. Worker performs chemical, biological, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. Assists with compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting results Ability to follow procedures and methods and to work well on a self-directed team is required. Good mechanical aptitude and skills as well as experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line are required. Experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred.

Specific job details for the person:

• Need to assist in operating of 4.5m tall blown film machine (able to handle occasional heavy resin loading-not every day).

• Need to assist in generating masterbatches (have some experience in handling hot extruder line)

• Need to assist in die build up studies, via a small extruder machine (taking pictures of the hot polymer melt every 15mins over 6hrs)

• Need to assist in clearing of heavy purged wastes after testing has been completed.

• General house-keeping of laboratory as in sweeping and clearing materials on the floor after each testing.
