Culina is a leading purveyor of specialist epicurean foods and wines, a choice distributor to hotels, restaurants and cafes in Singapore. Culina runs a Bistro and Gourmet boutique, an Organic retail store, SuperNature in Dempsey, as well as a chain of butcheries in Major Supermarkets island-wide.
Our production plant is looking for a butcher who has excellent knife-handling skills, can manage meat cutting, trimming, slicing, and mincing of raw meat products, and is ready to contribute to the production team.
Responsibilities:
• Portion cutting, trimming, mincing, making meat patties, and processing meat products through operating meat-cutting machinery.
• Ensure all meat is prepared fresh and is of the highest quality.
• Strictly adhere to standard safe work procedures and specifications, methods, and instructions from the immediate supervisor/production manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or as directed by the supervisor, who can assign duties that are logically related to the position.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area; ensure the cleanliness of equipment and tools; adhere to hygiene and safety standards.
• Assist in all meat preparation as instructed and ensure wastage is minimised.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production forecasts and adjust to last-minute changes, if any.
Requirements:
• Experience in butchery and some knowledge of different meat cuts.
• Knowledge of operating meat processing equipment is required, including grinders and slicers.
• Good team player, submissive and punctual in attendance.
• Must be able to work in a cold room environment for 8 hours, 5.5-day work week.
• Strong to carry loads around 20kg of product at times.
• Working hours: 7.30 am to 4.30 pm | Monday to Friday
7.30 am to 11.30 am | Saturday
