Group Human Resources Director
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be essential in defining and executing HR strategy, aligning it with business objectives, and ensuring our HR practices support our mission and values as we expand and innovate across the APAC region.
This newly created role will lead efforts to attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering an inclusive work environment. You will be pivotal to our regional growth strategy and drive transformational change.
Role Summary
Strategic HR Leadership
- Oversee all HR functions with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and compliance across the APAC region.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with regional business objectives and growth plans.
- Advise senior management on HR matters, ensuring HR initiatives align with business goals.
- Manage rewards and recognition programs to ensure competitive compensation and benefits.
- Drive talent programs and implement organizational design strategies.
- Lead the HR team to support organizational goals.
Talent Acquisition, Management and Development
- Lead recruitment strategies to attract top talent, implementing best practices in talent acquisition.
- Develop retention strategies to maintain high employee engagement and reduce turnover.
- Implement performance management frameworks and leadership development programs.
- Develop succession planning strategies for leadership roles.
- Implement training programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
Employee Engagement
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive work environment that promotes engagement and well-being.
- Develop initiatives to enhance workplace culture and morale.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Serve as the final point of contact for employee relations issues.
- Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution fairly.
HR Operations
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll, compensation, benefits, and employee records.
- Drive improvements in HR processes and systems to streamline operations.
- Implement and manage HRIS and other systems for talent acquisition and payroll.
Change Management and Culture
- Lead change management efforts and culture transformation initiatives.
- Develop communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged during changes.
- Ensure smooth transitions during organizational changes.
- Foster open communication and collaboration across the organization.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Stay updated on legislative changes and market trends affecting compensation and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations across the APAC region.
- Promote ethical behaviour and ensure adherence to the company’s code of conduct.
- Identify and mitigate HR-related risks, including employee relations issues and legal challenges.
HR Analytics and Others
- Utilize HR data and analytics to provide insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare HR reports and dashboards for senior management with analysis and recommendations.
- Build strong rapport with business leaders to build trust and synergy.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned.
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in HRBP roles.
- Prior working experience in the commodity industry is a MUST.
- Experience with both start-ups and MNCs preferred.
- This role requires this person to travel to our regional offices.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of HR laws and regulations in the APAC region.
