Position Overview:

The Onboarding & Transaction Monitoring Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth onboarding processes for new employees and effectively monitoring transactions to prevent fraud and ensure compliance. This dual-role position requires a unique blend of strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction Monitoring duties (70%):

  • Monitor and review financial transactions for suspicious or irregular activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze transaction data using specialized software and tools to identify patterns or anomalies that may indicate fraudulent behaviour.
  • Prepare and submit reports on transaction monitoring findings, including detailed documentation of investigations and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure timely resolution of flagged transactions and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes related to transaction monitoring and fraud prevention.

Onboarding duties (30%):

  • Working closely with Relationship Managers to support clients in the on-boarding process and provide support post on-boarding
  • Responsible for liaising with clients on collection of documentation and performing client screening for new and existing accounts in accordance with the regulatory requirements and ensuring completeness and validity
  • Conduct customer due diligence for new and existing accounts and raise escalations, where necessary, to Compliance.
  • Understand customers’ needs, provide appropriate solutions and attention promptly to consistently deliver excellent quality service to achieve total customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to professional standards of behaviour & conduct in dealing with customers.
  • Solicit customers’ feedback and identify problem trends for improvement actions.
  • Proactively communicate with key stakeholders and work with the different business units to address and resolve issue for customers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in onboarding processes and/or transaction monitoring, preferably in a financial services or related industry.
  • Fresh graduates, with good attitude and willingness to learn, are welcomed.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address potential issues or discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with onboarding software and transaction monitoring tools.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
