Overall Job Objectives:
The Assistant Manager / Senior Executive (Content Development) will play a key role in the operations of the Exhibition Programming and Content Development department, through assisting with content production, project management and the administration of exhibitions and other programmes.
They will support various other gallery departments to ensure the timely production and dissemination of content for platforms such as the website, publications and social media that upholds STPI’s content and communication standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Exhibition Research and Production
- Support Manager (Content Development) in planning and executing exhibitions, and related content and programming, including but not limited to:
- Drafting curator’s agreements
- Coordinating collateral deadlines such as for exhibition catalogues and wall texts
- Copychecking collaterals such as artwork labels and building banners
- Administering procurements and payment matters
- Render exhibition layouts in SketchUp
- Collating slides for talks programmes
- Obtaining image permission for collaterals
Content Development
- Collate, edit and/or organise project and artwork information pertaining to a Visiting Artist Programme (VAP)
- Develop and maintain artist biographies for new VAP artists
- Transcribe and edit audio materials for use in exhibition videos and the website
- Research, update and maintain the list of VAP artists news
- Develop and/or edit content for the Sales and VIP teams when necessary for art fair applications and patronsevents
- Support the content development of STPI’s website, including:
- [During the pre-launch phase] Support Manager (Content Development) in preparing content for upload onto the new website interface, including but not limited to content clean-up and organisation
- Updating and maintaining the publication calendar for the website
- Supporting the Communications team with the timely upload of content materials onto STPI’s website
- Analysing website analytics in order to gain insights and make strategic suggestions
Other Departmental Tasks
- Upkeep of the STPI Library, including updating the database, ensuring the organisation of the physical library, and facilitating and tracking loans
- Upkeep and contribute to the institutional and arts professionals contact list
- Support all departments in copyediting, fact checking and copywriting duties
- Support talks, symposium and other programming administration work
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Reporting Officer
Job Specifications:
- Degree in art history or other related subjects in the humanities, with at least 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Curatorial experience preferred
- Possess excellent research, writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess public speaking skills
- Creative and innovative mindset
- Keen interest in and knowledge of contemporary art and its practices
- Proactive, team player
- Good project management and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
