Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HR Lead with a strong background in South Asia e-commerce, expertise in managing a large local delivery workforce, and proficiency in one of the local languages. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in HR practices, tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities of the South Asia region, especially in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Planning:

  • Collaborate with BU business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals and address the specific needs of the South Asia market.
  • Provide insights on regional labour market trends, workforce challenges, and best practices to inform strategic decisions.

Regional and Cultural Expertise:

  • Ensure compliance with South Asia's labour laws, regulations, and cultural considerations.
  • Serve as the HR point of contact for the South Asia region, addressing specific regional HR issues and initiatives.
  • Leverage proficiency in one of the local languages to effectively communicate and engage with the local workforce.

Workforce Management:

  • Oversee HR aspects of managing a large local delivery workforce, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Implement scalable solutions for workforce planning and management to ensure efficient delivery operations.

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

  • Partner with recruitment teams to attract, hire, and retain delivery personnel and other critical roles within the e-commerce operations.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies to minimize turnover and enhance employee satisfaction.

Employee Engagement and Relations:

  • Foster a positive work environment and strong employee engagement through effective communication, recognition programs, and conflict resolution.
  • Address employee relations issues promptly and fairly, ensuring consistency in policy application.
  • Utilize local language skills to bridge communication gaps and enhance employee relations.

Performance Management:

  • Drive the performance management process, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and development planning.
  • Support managers in identifying performance gaps and implementing corrective actions.

Operational HR Support:

  • Ensure smooth HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and employee data management.
  • Utilize HR metrics to monitor and improve HR processes and outcomes.

Change Management:

  • Lead change management efforts to support organizational growth and transformation.
  • Communicate change initiatives effectively and support employees through transitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of working experience, with significant experience in the South Asia e-commerce sector and managing a large local delivery workforce.
  • Good understanding of South Asia's regulations, and cultural dynamics.
  • Proficiency in one of the local languages (e.g., Urdu Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, etc.) is required.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a multinational e-commerce organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
