Job Description
About the role
Due to the growing demand for technology protection in Singapore and regionally, we are currently
looking for Chemists to train as Patent Attorneys.
Candidates will be considered for a Patent Scientist position and will have a PhD or Masters in
Chemistry (in any field of specialization) or Material Science. More importantly, candidates must
exhibit strong English Language communication skills (both written and oral), the capacity for
understanding diverse technologies and legal concepts, and the ability to learn quickly and work in
a fast-paced environment. Preference will be given to candidates with 23 years industry or post
graduate research experience.
The role will involve all aspects of patent work including the drafting, searching, and filing and
prosecution of patent applications in Singapore and abroad.
Successful candidates will receive training and development towards achieving the coveted
professional status of a Singapore Registered Patent Attorney with very attractive remuneration at
qualification level. Accordingly, candidates must be ready to make a long-term commitment
(typically at least 4-5 years) to study outside of typical office hours to pass the necessary
examinations to qualify as a Patent Attorney.
