As part of our Operations Consultancy Practice, you will be responsible for providing guidance to Changi’s overseas airports, as well as client airports in operational areas, such as the planning and management of passenger terminals, airside operations, Airport Operational Control Centre (AOCC) management, cargo operations, operational efficiency, Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) etc.

You will need to analyse operational flows / processes and the passenger journey, to identify pain points and be able to recommend solutions i.e., in areas of process / facility / system reorganisation etc. The aim is to help our airports improve operational efficiency, while managing costs effectively. In addition, you may need to guide or support our asset and client airports in developing processes, SOPs and manuals to meet regulatory, operational and business needs.

You will need to engage our airports’ partners and their stakeholders, as well as work with colleagues from different areas e.g., Commercial, Traffic Development, Master-planning, Project Management etc. in developing integrated solutions for our clients.

To perform well in this role, you must have an analytical mind and be able to quickly identify the root causes and issues affecting operations and ultimately, customer service. Naturally, you must also possess sound operational thinking, while being able to effectively manage partners and implement solutions in a cost-effective manner. Being a team player and being able to adapt to the different needs of each project is a must. The candidate must be able to travel for work and work across cultures and nationalities, as all our projects are overseas projects.

In addition, you will be required to:

  • Work with our counterparts at our asset and client airports to resolve operational issues
  • Perform a monthly review of asset and client airports’ operations and preparation of related materials
  • Provide advisory on operational matters in various projects and Business Development, as part of integrated consultancy solutioning
  • Provide review of operational and related budgetary matters for asset and client airports
  • Handle other projects and Operational Practice related duties as assigned
  • Lead Business Development initiatives and take on project management roles, where necessary

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in developing, planning and managing Operations is required, preferably in the airport, airline or ground handling industries.
  • A recognised degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to utilise various analytical / productivity tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills (whether through face to face or video presentations, reports and papers, presentation decks, etc.)
  • Able to travel overseas for work is a given.
  • Able to conduct fieldwork onsite, as required.
  • Open to overseas postings
  • Open to be cross-trained in other aspects of airport management, including commercial and traffic development.
  • Analytical and strong business acumen with ability to think on the feet.
  • Able to work under pressure, independently, managing multiple stakeholders, initiatives and tasks effectively.
  • Able to exercise right judgement on the need for diplomacy and/or being assertive when ambiguity arises.
  • Possessing one or more of the following skills / experiences will be advantageous:
  • Airside operations & safety
  • ORAT
  • Passenger terminal operations
  • Knowledge on Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of airport systems, such as BHS, FAST, PBB, AODB, RMS, FIDS, aircraft pavements or Facility Maintenance
  • Planning, development or management of Airport Operational Control Centres (AOCC)
  • Implementation of FAST and contactless technologies
  • Airport systems e.g., CUPPS/CUSS, AODB, RMS, FIDS
  • Cargo operations
