JR51157 Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A / Costing)

As a Financial Planning Analyst / Sr. Financial Planning Analyst at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for using and coordinating multiple sources of data to provide business units, functional areas, and management with forecasting results for Assembly/Test or SSD/Module . You will also be responsible for analyzing data for plans and trends, as well as discrepancies and variances. As a Financial Planning Analyst you will also be performing customer specific requests for ad hoc reporting. You will also be presenting your analysis to the various stakeholders through face-to-face meetings and phone conferences.

Responsibilities And Tasks

Collect and Organize Required Corporate Metric Data

  • Navigate information system applications (SAP, COGNOS, LPI, etc.) to collect actual and forecast data
  • Combine and coordinate multiple sources of data from Finance, Business Units, and Manufacturing
  • Load data into financial systems
  • Validate Financial inputs to source data
  • Archive data inputs for record keeping

Analyze Financial Data

  • Validate data and outputs for legitimacy and follow-up for discrepancies
  • Build reports to summarize plan and trend variances
  • Document and distribute explanations for plan and trend variances to management and other internal stakeholders
  • Perform ad hoc analysis based on customer requests

Design, Develop, and Maintain Forecast Models

  • Identify need, scope, and system resources
  • Design and develop system solutions
  • Validate solutions through stakeholder feedback; modify accordingly
  • Implement and communicate model functionality and output
  • Provide training to stakeholders as needed
  • Perform continuous process improvements

Present Data Summaries and Provide Consultation

  • Maintain knowledge of SOX requirements
  • Present a consolidated forecast according to customer requirements
  • Highlight areas of concern and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Identify and explain assumptions and variances to plan
  • Coordinate summary presentation logistics
  • Maintain knowledge of internal and regulatory requirements (SOX, GAAP, Corporate Retention policy, etc.)
  • Mentor team members on systems, processes, and policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant course
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal English-language communication and presentation skills
  • 5 - 7 years of work experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Strategy, or related fields in the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Experience with advance data analytical & visualization tools (Python, Power BI, SQL) and benchmarking is a plus
