We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader to join our optical clock development team and to lead a team of multi-disciplined metrologists and scientists to support our research programme in next-generation optical clocks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical clock technologies, particularly in the development of lutetium (Lu) clock.
Successful applicant will join our Time & Frequency Laboratory and be responsible to develop a broad range of solutions that enable progress in cutting-edge science of optical clocks that could lead to the SI Second being redefined.

The candidate will need to:
- Lead and manage a team of scientists, engineers and metrologists in the research, design, and development of optical clock systems (e.g., Lu, Sr, Yb clocks).
- Oversee the planning and execution of dedicated experiments to evaluate and validate clock performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical clock technologies into practical applications and systems.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optical clock research and technology and incorporate relevant findings into project strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all aspects of optical clock development.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on optical clock technology.
- Extensive experience in the design, construction, and operation of optical clock systems, with specific expertise in Lu clocks preferred.
- Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to mentor and motivate team members, manage project timelines, and allocate resources effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
