The suitable candidate should be someone who thrives in venture developments and making meaningful outcome-driven connections between budding academic ideas & the industry. He/She supports and works very closely with students, principal investigators and researchers, transforming their cutting-edge technology into real-world solutions. You will walk alongside students, principal investigators and researchers through their commercialisation journey from inception till launch. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Venture Partner & Builder (40%)

  • You will be the end-to-end partner of student innovators and research commercialisation teams. You will facilitate connections with partners in the startup ecosystem and industry contacts to help bring student innovations and research projects to the next stage of their journey.

Grant Coordination & Management (40%)

  • You will facilitate and coordinate relevant grant applications. This goes beyond grant administration and calls for proposals. It requires partnering teams in their readiness for grant applications and in achieving their progress milestones

Program management (20%)

  • You will be at the epicentre of innovation programs. By working with internal and external program partners, you will design and develop innovation programmes and promote participation in these programs.
  • You will organise and facilitate workshops, events, and networking sessions to promote innovation and research commercialisation. You will be working closely with colleagues and should be comfortable moving seamlessly between planning, content, and execution.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in any discipline combined with an interest in frontier technology.
  • Prior experience working in or with start-ups and the start-up community, preferably in accelerators, research commercialisation or venture partnerships
  • Comfortable with interacting with a wide variety of people with varying personalities on a day-to-day basis
  • Able to articulate ideas well both verbally and in writing effectively
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude
  • Comfortable with working in a lean team while receiving and rendering support from/to the rest of the team
