The SGH Research and Innovation Office oversees the SGH’s overall research and innovation strategies, synergising capabilities in support of the research and innovation vision of the Hospital, which is “To advance and transform care for individual and population health, through conducting world-class research and innovation and nurturing a community of future-ready healthcare research professionals”. The SGH Research and Innovation Office’s mission is to enable SGH’s research and innovation.

Innovations in healthcare and health technology are crucial for us to deliver cutting-edge healthcare to improve the health of our patients and the Singapore population. In driving the SGH Strategic Innovation Masterplan, the SGH Research and Innovation Office will work closely with our clinician innovators, innovation platforms and academic and industry partners to develop innovations towards successful commercialisation and implementation. Hence, the SGH Research and Innovation Office is seeking a highly-driven candidate to join our passionate team to drive our innovation endeavours to make SGH a world-class centre for healthcare research and innovation.

Leading the Innovation team in the SGH Research and Innovation Office, the incumbent will:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of the SGH Strategic Innovation Masterplan at hospital level to develop and grow innovation in SGH.
  • Innovation workstreams/ focus areas
  • Innovators’ career development
  • Innovation infrastructure/ enabler support
  • Innovation governance
  • Innovation deployment/ translation within the hospital
  1. Support Innovation Director in overall strategic planning, and developing and implementing policies, guidelines, and frameworks to govern and grow SGH innovation activities.
  2. Oversee coordination and manage relationships with key stakeholders to
  • implement the SGH strategic Innovation masterplan,
  • identify and drive the high potential innovation projects/products for development and investment and
  • manage innovation matters.
  1. Manage, protect, and leverage the value of innovations in SGH.
  2. Provide advice from ground experience working in the SGH environment and support scaling of successful projects across SingHealth to support spin-offs/start-ups.
  3. Coordinate the work of the innovation team with the other teams in Research and Innovation Office, working under the guidance of the Innovation Director and Deputy Director, Research and Innovation Office.
  4. Lead a team of staff members and oversee the smooth operation of innovation team.

Job Requirements:

  • Possesses a good general degree, preferably in healthcare/ bioengineering/ business-related fields. Post-graduate degrees would be an advantage.
  • Has a minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in innovation strategy and/or administration with at least 4 years in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Preferably with knowledge and experience in innovation translation.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication, coordination, and time management skills.
  • Able to relate well to staff of all levels and be a team player.
  • Able to work independently and meticulously.
  • Effective presentation and organisational skills.
