Job Scope of a Teacher

1. Plan and implement curriculum and programmes:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate teaching, learning and caregiving activities aligned to the relevant curricula frameworks
• Design developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources to enhance quality of learning environment
• Evaluate documentations of children’s learning and development to better

inform planning and teaching

• Customize classroom management strategies
• Review health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures

2. Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships:

• Foster relationships with families to facilitate the continuity of care and learning between home and centre
• Coordinate activities between families and community stakeholders
• Engage families, caregivers, community stakeholders and volunteers to develop programmes and services

3. Manage family and community programmes

• Develop and implement centre, family and community initiatives and programmes
• Develop outreach activities to promote centre programmes and services
• Evaluate family and community initiatives and programmes for improvements

4. Conduct routine caregiving:

• Conduct and review results of routine caregiving assessment
• Guide routine caregiving practices according to Standard Operating Procedures
• Evaluate routine caregiving improvements

5. Uplift professional practice

• Promote Centre’s vision, mission and core values

• Co-develop appropriate teaching and caregiving methods based on emerging sector trends, technologies and tools
• Identify areas for improvement to enhance work performance
• Propose improvements to professional development and service quality improvement activities

Job Requirements

• 
  Must have Advanced Certificate in Early Years or other relevant qualification
• Must be EY2 certified
• More than 3 years of experience in ECCE
• Passionate about children and their development
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office - Word
• Good interpersonal and organization skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to communicate well with internal & external customer.
• Good command of English or Mandarin – verbal and written
