My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to optimise the parts department operations. The Supply Chain Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of parts throughout the organisation. This involves overseeing inventory management, warehousing, and logistics for our parts department. Located in the West. The role requires the candidate to be fully on site.


Your new role

Inventory Management:
  • Implement inventory control measures to optimise stock levels and minimise obsolescence.
  • Oversee the receiving, inspection, and storage of parts.
  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory records using appropriate software systems.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Logistics & Warehousing:
  • Manage the efficient movement of parts within the department and to other locations.
  • Optimise warehouse layout and storage practices to maximise space utilisation.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and warehousing operations.
Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in supply chain management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.


What you'll need to succeed

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a Supply Chain Manager or similar role, preferably within a parts department in heavy machinery
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, including demand planning, procurement, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
