SIMTech is looking for a highly motivated, independent, and innovative Energy Systems Analyst to join Sustainability Informatics & Strategy (SIS) Group. Candidate will play a crucial role in analysing energy system models that will directly inform the Singaporean"s long-term national-level decarbonization strategy. Your work will influence decision-making processes at the highest levels and contribute to mitigating climate change and promoting environmental stewardship on a global scale.

Job Description

The successful candidate is expected to utilize energy systems optimization models and implement existing work in energy and emissions modelling to Life Cycle Assessment:

The Key Roles & Responsibilities Include

  • Translate existing national and international level energy systems models to other advanced platforms
  • Perform Life Cycle Assessment with optimization using recently developed techniques and tools
  • Gather and translate policy user decision making requirements into modelling problems
  • Perform Techno-economic and environmental analysis of energy systems
  • Perform program coding & testing in compliance with approved life cycle methodologies
  • Perform policy analysis using results from energy systems model results

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/ Energy Policy (or equivalent experience)
  • Familiarity with energy systems model-generators such as TIMES, OSeMOSYS, PyPSA, PLEXOS, and other relevant software platforms used for techno-economic analysis and optimization of energy systems.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new energy system models, methodologies, and tools to adapt to evolving research needs and technological advancements.
  • Experience with techno-economic analysis of energy systems or other sustainability related systems
  • Experience with generating policy recommendations using energy systems modelling results or other sustainability reporting
  • If candidate is from non-energy sustainability field, willingness and ability to apply experiences to energy and emissions field
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues
  • Strong hands-on capabilities
  • Diligent and possess a positive work attitude
  • Good communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Candidates with experiences in related field but with the willingness and ability to learn energy systems modelling are also welcome to apply
