Job Responsibilities

  • Drive Luxury Brand alignment, including program, budget, planning and interior design due diligence initiatives, providing mentorship to our key partners including internal stakeholders, Operations and DPM teams, in concert with third party owner’s, architects, design and technical consultants.
  • Encourage collaborative work sessions, both in-person and electronic, to foster positive team member relationships.
  • Project evaluations and recommendations shall optimize the quality of the guest experience and overall performance of the property.
  • Projects will encompass long-range CAPEX planning, acquisition due diligence efforts, ‘property improvement planning’ development, property and project assessments, and site and desktop evaluations for conversions, renovations and new construction projects.
  • Drive the evolution of the Operations CAPEX planning initiative and all respective CAPEX projects, adhere to ‘Design Excellence’ Narratives, Documentation and Construction Standards, specific design initiatives, communication tools, etc.
  • Develop RFP’s, consultant contracts and manage contract resolution as necessary.
  • Collaboratively evaluate and make recommendations for improvements to ‘Design Excellence’ effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Direct and guide a team of design managers to ensure the team is on track.
  • Direct design teams and define team resources to ensure successful implementation of design excellence within an operating environment.
  • Ensure stringent compliance to company policies and procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Develop a strong culture of integrity, teamwork, passion, creativity, respect, and strong project delivery with Sourcing and Procurement to review and comment on design consultant scope and fee

Document Review / Process & Project Management

  • Independently review and assess properties and project documents, contributing space planning and detailing to be included in design presentations, FF&E, Artwork, OS&E and GC drawings and/or specification submittals for compliance with Local code/ IB standards and Sands compliance standards.
  • Compose written and visual recommendation and approval documents for internal and external circulation.
  • Provide mentorship to the consultants of the process of online project registration, design submittals (both electronic and physical), collaborative workshops and relationship building, issuance of formal design approval letters, etc. In select cases, with business units - hold responsibility for managing and delivering CAPEX renovation projects.
  • Support the construction delivery team in all aspects related to design, including ensuring acceptable quality deliverables by the consultants and contractors in all stages of the project.

Job Requirements Education & Certification

  • 4-year degree from an accredited interior design or architecture program Experience
  • 15 years+ global experience with proven track record in handling luxury resort projects or large-scale mixed-use developments at major consultancy firms and developer.
  • Experience and knowledge of all aspects of Integrated Resort design, including space planning, interior design, FF&E, materials;
  • Extensive experience implementing design processes, including driving current consultants’ practices, scope and abilities;
  • Experience with managing teams and complex projects, including design team organizational structures and resources
  • Experience with broad, complex teams delivering projects for large-scale commercial buildings
  • Experience in large-scale Integrated Resorts and/or Regulated Casino Environments is preferred, but not critical Other Prerequisites
  • Ability to successfully communicate in both oral and written forms and graphically by developing diagrams and documenting reviews (e.g. CAD, loose hand sketches, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership capabilities, charisma, and communication skills to influence, inspire, and motivate key stakeholders and employees around a single vision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with senior management team with poise and discipline, while being a self-starter.
  • Effectively manage conflict resolutions and handle all disputes in a swift and efficient manner
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication and collaborative skills, including the ability to handle details through to completion, ensure project objectives are met and projects are successfully delivered on par with ‘Design Excellence’.
  • Strong financial acumen and bottom-line orientation with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, and changeable environment under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Use of Microsoft Office, AutoCad, Revit, Sketch Up, Adobe Design Solutions, InDesign.
