Introduction

The Network Director (ND) of The Economist Intelligence Corporate Network (EICN) in South-East Asia is responsible for delivering insights, primarily through monthly meetings and individual member briefings, to the networks in Singapore and KL. Reporting into the Global Editorial Director, the ND must have: the confidence and charisma to engage and impress senior executives; excellent analytical capabilities and the ability to convey compelling analysis persuasively; and the skills to moderate highly interactive discussions and meetings.

The Network Director delivers services that meet the editorial standards of The Economist brand, and is required to develop good relationships with network members and to help to create a conducive working environment among TEG colleagues.

Accountabilities

How you would contribute:

  • Lead and be a thought leader for the EICN in South-East Asia
  • Create and deliver the EICN programme of events in Singapore and KL to a high quality, working closely with peers and colleagues
  • At EICN meetings, in addition to sourcing outstanding speakers, to facilitate discussions that are highly stimulating, challenging and participative
  • Work closely with the EICN business development team to retain existing members and attract new members, and develop value-added customised services for members and non-members (NMR)

  • Maintain a thorough and wide-ranging knowledge of Asian politics, economics and business
  • Build an understanding of the EICN offering and wider EIU products to ensure the maximisation of editorial and commercial opportunities
  • Demonstrate an outstanding editorial and analytical judgment
  • Deliver exceptional communications with timeliness and accuracy
  • Facilitate stimulating discussions that uncover genuine, actionable insights
  • Develop an excellent network of senior executives and policymakers in Singapore and KL
