GENERAL SUMMARY

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to take on a dual-role as an Underwriting Associate to support our CEO and Senior Underwriter.

The successful candidate will assist with underwriting-related work, including in-depth analysis, account preparation, and ensuring smooth coordination of meetings and events. This role also involves managing schedules, booking venues, and preparing materials for client interactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Underwriting Support Functions:

  1. Support CEO and Senior Underwriter with day-to-day underwriting tasks including gathering, analyzing, and processing underwriting data.
  2. Track and log business submissions.
  3. Prepare and maintain underwriting files, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  4. Coordinate with various departments to facilitate the underwriting process, including obtaining necessary approvals and documentation.
  5. Monitor renewal dates and follow up with brokers as necessary.
  6. Monitor and manage the status of premium payments, ensuring timely collection from clients.
  7. Liaise with brokers, client’s ad internal departments to resolve outstanding payment issues.
  8. Maintain accurate records of credit and payment status highlight overdue accounts and taking necessary follow-up actions.
  9. Generate reports and summaries related to underwriting activities and performance metrics.
  10. Support the development and implementation of underwriting policies and procedures.

Additional Job Functions:

  1. Provide high-level administrative support to the CEO, including managing schedules, booking venues, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements.
  2. Prepare and organize meeting materials, agendas, and presentations for the CEO and other stakeholders.
  3. Manage venue bookings and ensure smooth logistics for all meetings.
  4. Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain the highest level of professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Specifications:

  • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Good understanding of process and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and software applications (especially Microsoft Excel). Proficient keyboard skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • College degree or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience in underwriting or insurance preferred but not required.
