Team Summary

To ensure that Visa’s payment technology is truly available to everyone, everywhere requires the success of our key bank or merchant partners and internal business units. The Global Data Solutions organization supports these partners by using our extraordinarily rich data set that spans more than 3 billion cards globally and captures more than 100 billion transactions in a single year. The Marketing function is supported by the Global Data Solutions organization, a high-performing team of data scientists, data analysts and data engineers helping major organizations adapt and evolve to meet the changes taking place in technology, finance, and commerce, with cutting-edge, creative and advanced analytic solutions. Our focus lies on building creative solutions that have an immediate impact on the business of our highly analytical partners. We work in complementary teams comprising members from Data Science and various groups at Visa.

To support our rapidly growing group we are looking for data scientists who are equally passionate about the opportunity to use Visa’s rich data to tackle meaningful business problems.

What a Marketing Data Scientist does at Visa:

The position will be based in Visa’s Singapore office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of analytical challenges across consumer behavior analytics, marketing campaign measurement, predictive modeling, alternative marketing data capability development such as matching research data to internal transaction data, etc. S/he will have a highly analytical bent of mind and requisite skills to independently analyze and interpret data insights.

  • Conduct statistical analyses on transaction data with big data tools like Hadoop and Spark to identify interesting and valuable insights and trends, produce visualization and reports to internal and external teams
  • Supporting the development of a robust system for measuring and optimizing the quality of deployed algorithms and models.
  • Monitoring AI models in production to evaluate performance, model drift, and decay.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to innovate by using VisaNet, non-traditional data and new modelling techniques fit for purpose to the needs of our clients
  • Act as data science advocate within our partners, advising and coaching analytical teams and sharing best practices and case studies.
  • Partner with roles across the organization including consultants, engineering, and data scientists to address prioritized business problems

Projects you will be a part of:

The nature of projects this role will play a key role in vary. This would include collaborating with Visa Marketing teams, primarily the Insights & Analytics team to help solve our clients’ most strategic business problems by leveraging data science solutions, such as working on integrating VisaNet data with other external datasets .

  • Matched Panel/Research: Integrate Survey based consumer data with Visanet proprietary datasets to enrich transactional information with demographic, attitudinal and behavioral information to help Visa & our client’s measure their campaigns and drive loyalty.
  • Marketing Measurement: Measure and optimize Visa and our clients’ campaigns through a variety of methodologies ranging from experiments (test and control) to econometric models
  • Time-series/predictive models: build and use simulations to understand what if scenarios, and projected outcomes of media investments vs not investing
  • Consumer behavior analytics: Design and develop analytics for Visa and our clients’ to quantify transactional and payment volume outcomes of changing consumer behavior, e.g. loading card on file, subscribing to streaming services, tapping to pay.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant data scientist experience
  • Hands-on experience in developing machine learning models, scaling data solutions and delivering end-to-end data science projects
  • Familiar with typical machine learning models such as Linear and Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, Clustering, etc.
  • Proficient in big data aggregation using Hive, Spark, SQL, R, Python, and familiar with typical deep learning toolkits and packages
  • Experience with visualization and reporting tools, such as advanced user of Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, open-source tool, or similar
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn, self-motivated and results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects
  • Experience in banking, marketing research, consulting industry preferred
