The role, Senior Manager- Portfolio Management has two essential responsibilities:

  1. Overall CIB portfolio level responsibilities: Oversee all portfolio level initiatives, mentor the junior analysts to ensure they are able to improve their overall credit analysis skills, impart facility structuring skills.
  2. Specific client responsibilities: Working with the RM for client coverage for large & complex corporate and institutional clients (especially where Singapore is a GRM location), in the areas of credit assessment, complex deal structuring, client servicing and client due diligence. This is also an important role from a financial crime risk management perspective and is expected to assist the respective RM in managing all aspects of the client relationship.

The responsibilities of Senior Manager- Portfolio Management include but not limited to:

· Portfolio Management

Tracking portfolio reviews, portfolio stress testing, Environmental Risk Framework related initiatives, deployment of rating model updates, EAR management, quality on credit submissions, support in structuring complex deals etc.

· Credit Risk Assessment and Management

Assisting the respective RM and working closely with the risk team in managing the credit risk of the client portfolio.

· Transaction Execution

- Assist respective RM in the implementation and execution of transactions including confirmation of conditions precedents met, and handling drawdown requests.

- Assist respective RM in coordinating the execution of legal documentation including facility agreement negotiation, perfecting of security / collateral, liaising with external legal counsel, HO legal, other lenders, etc.

· Client Servicing

- Work with product partners, operations team, risk and compliance for a seamless service delivery of the bank’s products to the client. This includes matters relating to payment investigations, account opening, loan drawdown / rollover requests, quotation of rates, balance enquiries etc.

- Be the escalation point for client relationships, proactively solving issues and escalating appropriately to RM, local COO or local CEO as required.

· Client Due Diligence and Compliance

- Perform client due diligence and manage all aspects of financial crime risk in line with Bank’s compliance policies such as “Know Your Customer” (KYC), Anti Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions etc.

- Timely KYC and trigger reviews

- Follow up on alerts triggered by ongoing transaction monitoring as necessary

· Coaching and Guidance to juniors

Mentor the junior analysts to ensure they are able to improve their overall credit analysis skills, facility structuring, documentation negotiation with clients etc.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Financial qualifications, knowledge of accounting & finance/law.
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of Corporate Banking experience with knowledge of credit risk assessment, Trade finance, Treasury, DCM, with exposure of commercial banking products
  • Experienced with Asian coverage and credit skills.
  • Essential to understand credit analysis, legal documentation settlement, credit administration
