Job Description:

The Export Control Manager is part of the Export Control department, covering the Asia Pacific regional logistic hub, and based in Airbus Helicopters China subsidiary in Hong Kong. A relocation to Airbus Helicopters offices in Singapore is foreseen.

The local Export Control department is responsible for Airbus Helicopters (AH) compliance with regard to all applicable trade compliance regulations. The Export Control manager is working closely with the Asia Pacific logistic hub located in Hong Kong, as well as other support functions for Airbus Helicopters.

its 1000+ customers in 22 countries of the Asia-Pacific Region. Airbus Helicopters need to ensure that 95% of the parts are delivered at our customer on time. The Export Control Manager for the Asia Pacific logistic hub is a key resource to the achievement of this ambitious target.

Challenges, Roles and Responsibilities

The position will report to the export control central function in Europe headquarters with functional links to Regionals’ Heads of Export Control. The resource is in charge of the required checks prior to releasing a shipment or export to the AH network and customers in the Asia Pacific region, or accepting an order for dual use / military goods.

The position is based in Hong Kong.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to:

  • Receiving requests for release from the logistics teams;
  • Checking if any export authorization is required;
  • Checking the relevance of the available authorizations;
  • Releasing the shipment or the order in SAP when relevant;
  • Depreciating export licenses when required;
  • Updating a follow-up file when required;
  • Entering release information in SAP for tracking purposes;
  • Archiving evidences for record purpose;
  • Reporting any issue or uncertainty to the export control function;

In addition, the Export Control manager may support various continuous improvement initiatives for the region with regards to trade compliance (e.g. license application, IT tools deployment)

Expected background:

  • Basic knowledge in export control regulations:
    • US regulations (ITAR and EAR);
    • French and German Military regulation;
    • French and EU dual-use regulation;
    • Knowledge of Hong Kong SAR export control law a plus;
  • Experience in logistics and/or international shipping;
  • Experience or knowledge of customs regulations;
  • Knowledge and experience of SAP;
  • Experience in managing process compliance and standard operating procedures;
  • Knowledge in AH products and environment;

Experience / Skills

  • You have a keen interest in international trade compliance,
  • You demonstrate good logistics knowledge and skills;
  • You demonstrate knowledge and competencies on standard IT tools such as the Office / Google Suite as well as SAP;
  • You are rigorous and autonomous, benefit from strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment, under tight deadlines. You are able to break-down and explain complex topics to a variety of stakeholders;
  • You are customer oriented, with listening, communication and collaboration skills;
  • You are pragmatic, able to balance contractual and business risks, priorities, oversights and compliance;
  • You are fluent in English, both oral and written. Knowledge of French and German is a plus.
  • Your experience in the sphere of aviation or defense industry would be highly appreciated. An experience in the helicopter industry if definitely supportive.

This role might involve some travel for training, and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
