Accounting Responsibilities for Vessel Portfolio

  • Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with ASL HSSEQ policies and procedures.
  • Account Preparation: Prepare full set of accounts for assigned vessels, culminating in monthly closings for review with the Senior Accountant.
  • Invoicing and Payment Monitoring: Issue invoices for each client based on contractual agreements, submit for supervisor approval, and monitor timely payments while reporting discrepancies.
  • Transaction Execution: Execute all accounting transactions for assigned vessels, including invoices, expenses, payments, and payroll, while updating relevant ledgers to ensure compliance and effective financial monitoring.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations and check bank statements for accuracy.
  • Cash Statement Review: Review and check the master’s month-end cash statement for completeness.
  • Accounts Settlement: Upon approval, promptly settle all accounts/payments related to vessels to ensure smooth operations.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce and submit periodic financial reports for assigned vessels to senior management, reviewing actual costs against budgets and informing the Senior Accountant of variances.
  • Yearly Report Assistance: Assist the Senior Accountant in the timely preparation of annual company financial reports.
  • Analytical Reporting: Process accounting entries and develop analytical monthly reports as required by Arcadia, utilizing DANAOS/SHIPNET systems to provide management with essential information.
