Job Description

As the Executive, Trade, you will be responsible for providing support to the trade operations of the shipping company. This includes coordinating with internal teams, managing customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Executive, Trade will work closely with the Manager, Trade to ensure that the company's trade operations are efficient, effective, and meet the company's objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, customer service, operation and overseas office, to ensure that trade operations are aligned with company objectives.
  • Resolve and follow up day-to-day commercial and deployment matters with relevant departments.
  • Provide customer service and support, addressing any concerns or complaints and working to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Assist in managing relationships with external stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, and
  • partners, to ensure smooth trade operations.
  • Analyzing and developing effective commercial and deployment studies to optimize revenue and service profitability.
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights and recommendations to the Trade Manager and other senior executives in the company.
  • Assist in developing and implementing processes and procedures to ensure that trade operations are efficient and effective.
  • Analyze trade performance, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations for changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry bodies, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in Joint venture preparation such as contractual agreements, reconcile billing statement and verify invoices
  • Monitor trade performance such as vessel utilization , schedule integrity and margin contribution,
  • Analyze profit and loss statements and produce monthly report for management .
  • Assist in yearly budgeting and in following-up and analyzing its evolution
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the trade function.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Manager, Trade.

Requirements:

  • Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Maritime Studies (preferred). Other degrees or diplomas will be considered.
  • 2 years of experience in the shipping industry, with a focus on trade operations. Fresh graduates with the right attitude will be considered.
  • Basic understanding of trade practices, shipping regulations, and market dynamics in the shipping industry.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal teams and manage relationships with external stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders in the shipping industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for changes.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to trade operations in the shipping industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and at all levels of the organization in the shipping industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
