Dessert take-away shop operator

Job Description: We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Dessert Takeaway Shop Operator to join our team. This role involves a mix of baking, customer service, and daily operations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will have basic baking skills, strong sales abilities, and experience handling cashier duties in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Baking:

  • Assist with the preparation and baking of desserts, such as cookies, pastries, and other sweet treats.
  • Follow recipes accurately and ensure consistency in product quality.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.

• Customer Service & Sales:

  • Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
  • Assist customers in selecting their desired desserts, offering recommendations and upselling products.
  • Handle orders efficiently and ensure timely takeaway service.

• Cashier Duties:

  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process orders and payments (cash, credit, or other forms of payment).
  • Ensure accurate transactions and provide correct change when needed.
  • Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of shifts.

• Shop Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and inviting shop environment by regularly cleaning countertops, floors, and dining areas.
  • Ensure proper stock levels by monitoring inventory and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures, including locking up and securing the premises.

Requirements:

• Basic baking skills and willingness to learn new dessert recipes.
• Strong customer service and sales skills.
• Experience operating a cash register or POS system.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle light to moderate lifting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a bakery, dessert shop, or similar foodservice environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Enthusiasm for desserts and creative presentations.

Work Hours: Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on shop needs.
