Pastry Sous Chef

GYUTAN-TAN is a specialty grill restaurant in Singapore with fine-casual dining concept designed with Modern Japanese aesthetics.

Pastry Sous Chef is to provide support to Pastry Chef and team in a professional and timely manner. This individual will assist with daily kitchen operations and must be flexible in terms of job scope and work hours to meet the demands of our fast-paced and dynamic organization. This individual possesses communication and people management skills, meticulous, and able to work with fellow partners, management, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing/modifying pastry recipes and daily preparation
• Ensure food hygiene and quality control of ingredients
• Prepare pastry according to restaurant’s standard of quality, recipes, and standard operating procedure
• Manage stock orders, verify quality, and minimize waste
• Support scheduling, workflow, and team coordination
• Conduct briefings, provide staff training, and maintain consistency
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Pastry Chef

Requirements:

• Diploma/Vocational Certificate in Culinary Arts & Pastry
• Min. 3-5 years of pastry experience
• Proficient in pastry preparation methods
• Full knowledge of various preparation methods in relation to pastry making
• Strong team player with leadership and communication skills
• Positive service attitude and high personal hygiene standards
• Basic Food Hygiene certification required
• Japanese language skills are a plus

• Expected salary: $3,500 - $3,800 per month
